Pino
Daeni established himself as a successful artists in his
native land, Pino decided to emigrate to the United States, where he felt
he would have more artistic freedom and opportunity. He was soon
discovered by the distinguished Borghi Gallery, Which gave several
prestigious exhibitions for him in New York and Boston. His early
paintings featured soft romantic characters, mostly women dresses in
flowing skirts and dressed; and these caught the attention of both Dell
and Zebra Book Publishers. During most of the next two decades, his
Romance Period, Pino’s oeuvre was marketed by hundreds of book covers
painted by artists such as Danielle Steele, Sylvie Summerfield, and Amanda
Ashley. Using a then unknown Italian
model named Fabio, Pino struck a cord that is still resounding today.
Always underlying his success as a commercial artist, was his desire to
express his own thoughts and emotions, Years later, we see these images
brought to life in Pino’s original oils on canvas, giclee and serigraphs
published exclusively by Collectors Editions. Pino’s canvases elicit
feelings of warmth, nostalgia, love and family. His paintings are often
set on vibrantly sunny beaches, typically in the Mediterranean where he
grew up. His alter ego., A young boy surrounded by beautiful women, (his
sisters, aunts and cousins), are found in various
states of emotion ranging from adoration to isolation. Many of Pino’s
characters are also found frequently inhabiting sensuous boudoirs or
dressing rooms, in anticipation of their husband or lovers. Pino’s
technique, his warm and exciting colors, and the subtle, but simple
approach to his subject, are his trademark, his talent, and the reason why
his paintings and limited editions are in growing demand throughout the
United States, and appreciated by collectors throughout the world.
Jurgen Gorg captivates us with the lines of his
drawings. The artist combines the mastery of the classical line as found
in the Italian Renaissance with a very modern interpretation and use. The
viewer is caught in the movement. The melodic flow reminds us of jazz and
the improvisational quality of the departure from and return to a simple
melody. Space is explored, filled and accented - all executed with a
lyrical, subtle, and delicate fluidity. As his mind flows, his hand flows.
The human body is the predominant image portrayed by Gorg. His artistic
universe consists of lovers, dancers, musicians, and masked personages.
Tender, lithe, slim and young, these idealized, loosely rendered figures
suggest the timeless and eternal. An elusive quality is cultivated by Gorg
who feels that "something should always remain open." The focus
centers on body language and kinetic movement. By leaving the faces vague,
with eyes almost always closed, there is room for dreaming - both in the
viewer and within the subjects of the painting. This quality of the
somewhat indefinite yet perfect form creates a romantic aura.
Martin Eichinger’s sculptures are refreshingly unique.
They are evidence of a visionary artist who has something positive and eternal
to say with his talent. He is much more than a skilled craftsman at the
sculptor’s turntable. A profound comprehension of human anatomy has allowed
Eichinger to place his sculpture studies on the edge of possibility without
losing their sense of grace. At the same time he is a romantic who sometimes
adds bright colors, gems, iridescence and unusual basing to his work. For
example, his series of characters from an imaginary circus each includes a
poem that adds another layer of understanding. The charters he creates are
alive in the mind of Martin Eichinger, if nowhere else, and it shows in the
bronze he has touched. Each sculpture has o personality, a story to tell, a
wink of humor, a hint of tragedy or a whole philosophy if we look a bit more
closely. Martin Eichinger was born in 1949. He studied design and anatomy at
Ferris State University, did post graduate work in sculpture at Michigan State
University, and pursued independent studies of classical sculpture in Europe.
He has won numerous awards and competitions including a Kellogg Internship and
NEA grants. In 1972, Eichinger opened his first studio in Lansing, Michigan.
He relocated to Portland, Oregon in 1985 and settled into its historic Pearl
District in 1996. Eichinger and his bronze circus sculptures were guests of
Prince Rainier of Monaco at the International Festival du Cirque in 1993.
Eichinger is also known for several public monumental works. His most
significant is a 16- foot cast bronze for the city of Lansing, Michigan. Other
recent and notable commissioned works include the Columbus Quincentennial high
relief plaque for “Spain ‘92”, a plaque and bust of President Ronald
Reagan, and a sculpture to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Tenth
Mountain Division of the US Army.
Leonard Wren unpacks his oils, neatly stowed in a
French easel, he repeats the ritual that has remained constant during the
20 years he has been a painter. He always works outdoors and directly from
life. His wooden case is outfitted with wheels, the better to move it
through airports, and his backpack is loaded and worn. One thing it
doesn’t hold, is a camera. “Photography has ruined a lot of fine
paintings,” he says. “If you want the truth, you have to go straight
to the outdoors.” Wren sometimes finishes a painting in studio, using
the time to winnow down the information on the canvas. Painting outdoor is
a sensual experience, he says, made up of not only visual experiences but
also of the sounds of the birds and leaves crunching and the feel of the
breeze and the sun. Leonard Wren considers his style “ American
Impressionist” and considers the style’s accessibility and popularity
a plus.

Ramon Lombarte was born in Barcelona, the Catalan
region of Spain. This region is the cultural, financial and industrial
center of the country. Lombarte shares the rich artistic heritage of this
region with many famous artists, among whom are Miro, Dali, Tobaiasse,
Picasso, Gaudi and Tapies. Lombarte graduated from Massana School of Fine
Art in 1976, the school also attended by Picasso and Miro. There he
received traditional training and learned to create canvases without
relying on modern-day short cuts. He typically sketches as many as 60 to
70 preliminary studies in pencil, prepares intermediary "mixed
media" studies, and finishes with fully conceived final canvases
(acrylic and oil on linen). Being a traditionalist in this sense, Lombarte
does not work from photographs, but with live models. Nonetheless, he is
surprisingly prolific, producing between 30 to 45 new canvases yearly.
Lombarte's work has been tremendously well received due to its realistic
subject matter. This approach is quite refreshing in a time when many of
his contemporaries follow the current trend towards modern and abstract
imagery. Since his American debut in 1987 at the Nippon Club in New York,
Lombarte has captured the attention of many serious American art
collectors and firmly established his market in Europe - his work can be
seen in major museums. Notable European collectors include King Juan
Carlos of Spain, Andres Segovia, Antonio Gala, and Waldemar Neilsen. In
order to make his work to a greater audience, Lombarte began creating
lithographs. True to his painting style, he personally draws the image on
each stone to insure that his limited- edition prints are his work and not
that of another artist interpreting his images. He is so committed to
quality and authenticity that, using antique lithographic presses with the
assistance of a French master printer, he hand- pulls each piece of every
edition. This serious attention to traditional technique prompted him to
set up his own atelier in order to achieve maximum control over the
quality of every print.
Amleto Colucci uses his talents to
capture the romantic vistas seen by tourist who travel to the legendary Amalfi
Coast and by dreamers who long to go there. Born in Napoli, Italy in l953,
Colucci continues to live and paint in his native city where he is easily
inspired by the charming resort towns and cliff-hanging roads that blanket
this magical region of Italy. A master painter of light, Colucci captures the
warmth of sunlight and the beauty of the sea. With his fine attention to
detail and bold use of color he both fascinates and inpires the viewer. His
subject matter is gathered mainly from the everyday life along the Amalfi
coast where fishermen diligently harvest the waters, and people gather to
converse and leisurely pass time. Amleto Colucci's works are exhibited in
Gallery's throughout Europe and the United States and hang in numerous
personal and corporate collections around the world.
James Leonard has emerged as one of California’s
leading abstract expressionist painters. Leonard’s emotionally charged
landscapes often portray backdrops for figures dramatically suspended.
Leonard grew up in Nashville, Tennessee and has always been drawn to the
early expressionists of the 1930’s and 40’s. The German painter
Gerhard Richer has had an influence on his style, approach and directness.
Working with acrylics on canvas, James Leonard uses bold horizontal and
vertical strokes and strong color to the viewer’s emotions. “Art has
always been the focus of my life,” he says. “Just as our lives unfold
in unique and beautiful ways, so do my paintings have their own unique
individual expression.” The work of James Leonard is exhibited in both
Europe and the United States including the San Diego Museum of Art.
Numerous corporate collections feature his work: NASA, Motorola, Lifoka
Greafische in Holland and Sky Across Tokyo, Japan.
Alessandro Nocentini is one of Italy’s preeminent engravers and
etchers, derives his inspiration from the landscapes of his native
country. Since 1973 he has shown his work in Gallery's and museums in
Europe, the United States, and Japan, earning praise from critics and the
public throughout the international art world. Nocentini was born in l949
in Florence, where he continues to live and work.
