Tae Park switches subject matter with an ease not typically found in contemporary realism. Whether it is a soft-hued portrait of an antique bicycle, an up close portrait capturing a singular  human emotion or an urban landscape filled with impressionist color, Park is an artist who is able to infuse each work with her own diffused and painterly style.

“Each still life has its own challenges and story to tell depending on the way light behaves on different objects and surfaces” says award winning classically trained New York City artist Ellen Buselli. For Hydrangea with White & Green, she says “the many planes of the hydrangea bloom made a fascinating study of light and shadow, while the transparent glass vase transmitted soft beautiful light throughout the set-up.”

Buselli always paints from life in north daylight, favoring its soft and moody qualities, and finds her vases and other still-life artifacts in antique stores, garage sales, pottery sales, and during her travels here and abroad. 

Painting flowers in season is one of her favorite subjects, in glass or in favorite collected vases.  She usually paints in oils, but also works in watercolor and charcoal drawing. In addition to still-lifes, she also paints figure, portrait, and plein air landscape paintings.

Addison Gallery is pleased to announce the upcoming  one-woman exhibition of new works by internationally renowned artist Lucia Sarto.   Lucia gets her inspiration from the beautiful Tuscan country, Amalfi coast, Normandy and the Liguria region with its beautiful coastlines.  Her soft brush strokes bring to life the sun-drenched, bucolic landscapes and present a Utopian fantasy that we can appreciate only through her eyes.

Addison Gallery is pleased to announce the one-man exhibition of new works by one of America's most visible and prolific plein-air Impressionists, Leonard Wren.  In this major exhibition Leonard plans to include a stunning collection of new work including landscapes from the Burgundy region of France and the intimate cafe's of Provence. In addition, there are plans to unveil a new series focusing on American Nostalgia.

Leonard Wren is magnificent at capturing the subtitle and the values needed to bring a landscape to life. Hear his view point on the subject as you watch him demonstrate his techniques during his upcoming one-man exhibition.

Addison Gallery presents Laurie Adams with a fall show on view from October 6 through October 30.  Adam's new exhibition will focus on the figure in various emotional states.

"I'm very drawn to passion and that will be the theme I'm exploring with this new work," says Adams. "You have the passion that exists between a mother and a child, the passion found between two lovers or even the passion that exists between a dancer and her dance."
